This summer, the Rock Creek Dive Team is entering its eighth season in the Montgomery County Diving League. In keeping with the philosophy of the league, the emphasis is on safety and fun. No prior diving experience is required – only a desire to learn. Registration Information The dive team is open to all Rock Creek Pool summer swim members between the ages of 6 and 18, who are able to pass the pool test (swim one length of the pool and tread water for 60 seconds). Practices will begin on Tuesday May 27. A registration form is attached. Registration forms also will be available at the pool front desk once the pool opens. The registration fee is $60 and $30 for additional children from the same family. Team representatives will be at the pool from 1-4 on May 24th and 25th to collect registrations and to answer questions about the team. Please note that no child will be allowed to start practicing without a completed registration form and payment. This is a Montgomery County Diving League rule, and there will be no exceptions. If your child is hesitant or unsure about participating, please speak to the team representative and/or the coaches, and we can make arrangements to hold your check while he/she joins practice for a week. Sunday meets will begin at 5:00 pm. Weekday meets begin at 6:00 pm. Divers should be at the pool for warm- ups one hour before scheduled start time for home meets, and 30 minutes before start time for away meets. Please note that times can change; the coaches will keep divers informed of any schedule alterations. Other Important Dates/Info. Mark your calendars now!!!! Children who have a conflict should see the coaches to arrange to practice with a different age group. Practices are held Monday – Friday EXCEPT Wednesdays when the swim team has home “B” meets. These dates will be announced. The age group times may change as the coaches learn more about the needs of the divers and the number per age group. All divers are encouraged to try to practice during the times designated for their age group. Divers should speak with the coaches if there is a need to practice at a time other than that designated for their age group.
